FOSTER was an AMAZING experience!
Imagine a bunch of creatives huddled together in a cozy cabin in the mountains being taught by some amazing photographers who are not afraid to share what they know and how they got to where they are. Whether you’re an experienced photographer or brand new to photography, this workshop will definitely leave you feeling more inspired than ever. If you’re on the fence about attending one of Ben’s workshops, just do it. Seriously. You’ll be glad you did.
FOSTER was such a great experience!
Everything was so laid back and easy going. I loved the blend of teaching and discussion based sessions. I think my favorite part was watching Ben edit an image from start to finish. It was neat to see the tweaks he made to pull together the whole look! Oh, and the sleepover. That was totally awesome. Thanks so much for everything!
The work and care you put into FOSTER was truly inspiring.
This workshop was the best possible experience for me right now. I taught on the college level for a while after graduating with a degree in fine arts and I could see that you are a natural educator in the way you encouraged group discussions, answered questions thoughtfully, demonstrated techniques with clarity and patience, and created a supportive environment for everyone to engage, experiment and learn. I had a great time meeting everyone and I had some really wonderful conversations. I enjoyed meeting you as well. You're a great guy, easy to talk to and very perceptive. You mentioned that you want to move in the direction of education and with FOSTER you did a fantastic job. Thank you!
Ben is making a really incredible move into education and building community with photographers, and we all benefit.
His years of experience in photography and education come together in FOSTER. It was so comfortable right away and was a catalyst for new friendships and skill-sharing with so many like-minded and talented photographers. The other talent he brings in is also great for seeing the spectrum of creative process. I'll be going to every future one I can.
Spending a few days up in a secluded mountain town with a house full of creatives was exactly what I needed to spark more creativity in my own art. In a field that constantly feels like one big competition, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to slow down and have a safe place to share experiences, questions, and victories with others. It gave me the opportunity to not only take my art and business to the next level, but to not feel so alone in my fight to breathe truth into my work. Thanks, Ben!
After researching possible workshops for the last two years FOSTER was the first one I felt confident investing my time and money in.
Ben had a clear vision of what he wanted to teach and he executed it very well. He is a master at his craft, but just as importantly he is an experienced and patient educator.
FOSTER is a breath of fresh air, and aptly named.
In just three days, this workshop fostered a tight-knit community, real-world skills, practical knowledge, open discussion, a support system, and much more. Ben and Katch (guest teacher) are two extremely kind, fun, rad people. I’ve walked away with new friends, fresh ideas, and an open mind. If you’re on the fence about it for some reason, get off the fence and hop onto the FOSTER side. I seriously wouldn’t trade the FOSTER experience for anything. Heck yeah!
FOSTER was such an amazing experience!
It was surrounded by incredible, laid back creatives who truly listened to every question asked and presented one another with ways to better ourselves and better the photography community. Ben and Katch are talented beyond the moon and I'm so thankful to have had several days to learn from them and push for bigger and better things to happen this year.
FOSTER, FOSTER, FOSTER, what can I say? You were everything I had hoped for and more.
Seriously, thank you for creating a comfortable and approachable environment where the instructors and attendees could become peers. I was able to learn a ton and connect with fellow photographers. I walked away with a list of things to tackle that will help me refine my brand and process as well as better explore where I am going in my career. These are things I find getting pushed to the side, especially during the Summer (The Pacific Northwest's "Go-Time" Season) so it was nice to have an inspiring jolt right in the middle of it. So many little tips, tricks and truths in a community centered atmosphere. Thanks for sharing Ben! It was totally worth that life threatening LA traffic and trek down from Canada.
Foster was such an amazing experience.
Watching two amazing photographers go through the in's and out's of their successes and failures was incredibly helpful. I loved the session on Style and Brand, and felt like I left having clear direction and practical steps for my business. The atmosphere was so laid back and really encouraged community between the other photographers, and don't get me started on the location....gorgeous. I am so thankful to have attended and learned from the best!
